John developed the business adding a showroom and taking on the Ford franchise. In 1965 John then switched allegiance to Austin Morris. This association with the Rover Group lasted nearly 30 years during which time John sat on Rover Dealer Council, became a board member of the institute of Motor Institute. In 1987 John became President of the Scottish Motor Trade Association, representing the interests of all Motor Dealers in Scotland.

In another smart move, John saw the potential of SEAT cars, a new brand to the UK at the time. In February 1991, we became a new SEAT Dealer and things have gone from strength to strength.

Formally retiring aged 68, John has continued to be an active part of the firm, always helping out when needed and coming in to see staff and customers. John also never misses an opportunity to introduce new customers to the business, even selling a car to a customer while on a plane going on holiday!

Many happy returns John from all your staff.
