All-new estate becomes third member of the Leon family
SEAT President Jürgen Stackmann presents the brand’s all new Leon ST
at the Volkswagen Group media evening at Frankfurt Motorshow 2013
In a nutshell
The SEAT Leon ST (Sports Tourer) made its debut at the Frankfurt motor show on 9 September 2013, sparking huge interest in the first ever Leon estate.
The new model, which completes the Leon family, will open for ordering on 1 October with prices starting from £16,675 on the road – just £825 RRP more than the 5dr equivalent.
The new Leon ST in detail
The beautiful Leon ST has all of the striking looks of the 5dr model but its huge boot capacity gives it even greater versatility.
While the Leon ST’s wheelbase length is identical to that of the five-door model, its overall body length is 27cm longer at the rear. This gives the new model’s boot a whopping 587 litres of space. That is 55 per cent larger than that of its SC and 5dr siblings. With the rear backrests down capacity increases to an amazing 1,470 litres.
The Leon ST has one of the biggest boot capacities in its class and is also bigger than some of its competitors in the class above, and at a competitive price.
How do Leon ST’s competitors compare:
- Ford Focus Estate – 476 litres boot capacity, from £16,905 on the road (OTR)
- Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer– 500 litres, from £16,295 OTR
- Peugeot 508 SW – 506 litres, from £18,695 OTR
- Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer – 530 litres, from £18,860 OTR
The new Leon ST‘s engines, transmissions and trim levels are aligned to the 5dr, which means it will be available in S, SE and FR trims from launch.

It brings with it new technology, options and features, including:
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
- Front Assist (similar to Safety Assist on Mii, more details to follow)
- Double boot floor
- Roof rails
- Foldable front passenger seat
- Easy rear seat-back release mechanism
