The SEAT Mii electric was revealed today (Tuesday 4 June) at the brand’s On Tour press event in Oslo.
The Mii electric fuses dynamism, urban design, an advanced powertrain, and new levels of connectivity with affordability and low cost of ownership, to offer a vehicle that is ready to meet the challenges of the city and the needs of a new generation of customers.
Production will begin in Bratislava (Slovakia) in quarter four (Q4) 2019, with market introduction planned in quarter one (Q1) 2020.
The Mii electric will be on static display only at the upcoming UK leg of the SEAT On Tour media event later this month. Customer ordering of SEAT Mii electric will start this autumn and pricing will be announced towards the end of Q3.
SEAT’s first production all-electric vehicle also lays the groundwork for future members to join the family, with more electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) coming in the near future. These include the all-electric SEAT El-Born, plug-in hybrid versions of Leon, and high-performance plug-in hybrid versions of the CUPRA Formentor and CUPRA Leon.
“The market is changing, and electrification is expanding at an unprecedented rate. In Europe, the electric vehicle market grew by 46 per cent in the first four months of the year, moving forward we expect electrified vehicles to play an important role within our range,” said Luca de Meo, President of SEAT.
“The Mii electric is the start of that journey, and at the same time brings to the market an affordable electric car.”
Mii electric will help prepare the SEAT Dealer network for the expanding electrified market and the challenges it will bring, making the transition for customers moving to electric vehicles seamless.
