SEAT Exeo Autocar review

This week’s edition of Autocar features the magazine’s first review of its new long-term test car, an Exeo 2.0 TDI CR 143PS Sport.

“During this long-term test, we’re hoping to find out if the low asking price, Audi underpinning and SEAT tweaks can overcome the long-in-the-tooth basics,” says Jim Holder.

“Over the first couple of hundred miles we’ve driven, the engine has impressed. It’s refined, dishes out decent turbo oomph if you want it and has a broad spread of torque that allows you to be as relaxed as you like.”

And although the interior feels a little “dated”, “it has a certain charm that fussier, more modern layouts lack,” adds Holder. “You get a simple, tested layout that puts all the controls where you need them, and that’s all I need.”

“Recycling has never looked so good,” says Autocar. “This may just be SEAT’s best car.”
