Evo’s Paul Lang was bowled over by the Leon Cupra R’s performance when he tested it on track at Bedford Autodrome.
“Every lap the SEAT and I got quicker and quicker as I worked its grip harder through sweeping bends, maximised the turbo punch when exiting corners and began braking later than I at first thought possible,” he said.
“By the end of the evening I’d used £60 of super unleaded, but it was worth every penny. I absolutely love this car on track – it’s quick and confidence-inspiring, the seats hold you in place and it can embarrass many supposedly faster cars.
“The Cupra R is, in my opinion, a real track-day hero. In fact it seems to be going from strength to strength in every respect. Is there anything it can’t do?”
