The new Alhambra is “one of the best big MPVs around” says the December edition of WhatCar?, which hit the shops last week.
“The Alhambra has genuine space for seven adults,” says the review. “With all the seats in place there’s still space in the boot for a folded pushchair and a couple of bags.
“In five-seat mode the boot is huge; long enough to chuck in a pushchair lengthways, in fact. Fold down all five rear seats and you’ve almost got enough space to live in.”
It’s not just the Alhambra’s practicality that impressed road tester Leo Wilkinson. “The dash is a model of clarity and there’s a wide range of adjustment for the seat and steering wheel,” he writes. “There’s plush trim up front and more workaday materials further back, but build quality is excellent throughout. “
“The Alhambra strikes an excellent balance between family friendly comfort and ease-of-use… Around town, the steering requires minimal effort and the MPV’s square-sided shape and large glass area give a commanding view out. Once you’re on the open road the Alhambra hides its size well, with tidy handling and steering that gives you a decent idea of what’s going on.”
