Beneath its expressive design, the new Ibiza offers an impressive array of innovative technologies. The latest-generation state-of-the-art TDI and TSI power units, the DSG transmissions and the start/stop system combine fine dynamics with exceptional efficiency and guarantee SEAT’s signature driving fun.
This modern interpretation of the Station Wagon is available in a range of petrol and common rail turbo diesel engines. The new Ibiza ST is even available to order in super-frugal Ecomotive form, with CO2 emissions confirmed at a road tax-busting 92 g/km and an exceptional combined fuel economy figure of 80.7 mpg. Each car has a cavernous 430 litre boot capacity – 138 litres bigger than the Ibiza 5 door.
Performance is fully in keeping with the Spanish brand’s sporty ethos and the 1.2 TSI with DSG-auto, covers the 0-62 mph dash in a spirited 10 seconds before charging on, where legal, to a top speed of 118 mph.
On the new Ibiza’s ‘face’ the distinctive centrepiece is the trapezoidal grille, featuring the SEAT logo. The flatter proportions and horizontal honeycomb structure of the grille and the lower air intake emphasise the car’s width. The bumpers front and rear have been redesigned, with a look that is particularly accentuated on the sporty Ibiza FR version. Standard equipment on the FR, and available as an option on other models, are the large fog lamps with integrated cornering light. From the side, the new Ibiza looks like a precisely hewn and finely honed sculpture on wheels. The characteristic ‘dynamic line’ runs from the headlamps over the powerfully drawn wheel arches to the rear. A second, equally sharp, character line runs across the muscular rear shoulders to the rear lamps.
These powerful lines, and the interplay of taut surfaces, lend the Ibiza an athletic character – on both the coupé-like three-door and the five-door. Even the functional estate car conveys an unmatched look of dynamism, without any restriction on its exceptional utility.

Available across all three body styles it ticks all the right boxes for affordability. As the name suggests, air conditioning is standard, along with an MP3-compatible CD player with steering-wheel column controls and an aux-in port. It also has remote central locking, a volumetric alarm and a steering wheel that adjusts for reach and rake.
SE
The SE adds plenty of creature comforts, and is likely to remain the biggest seller in the range. Specification highlights include 15-inch alloy wheels, front fog lights, leather steering wheel and trip computer.
FR
Given the appeal for this trim level, this generous and sporty specification is now available across many different engine sizes. This means a more affordable FR proposition but with all the aggressive, bespoke styling you would expect from an FR product. This also means that the practical Ibiza ST is available as an FR for the first time. As well as featuring the trademark FR aesthetics inside and out, these models get 16-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, ESP, twin exhaust pipes and LED taillights on top of the standard SE equipment.
