Positive Customer Experience

On Friday 03 June 2011, my wife and I took possession of our SEAT Leon FR vehicle, having visited your showroom together on Sunday 29 May to see what was available and subsequently on Monday 30 May when I returned for a test drive.

When we visited on Sunday, we did not specifically plan to buy a SEAT; in fact, we were still undecided and in the early stages of looking at various makes and models ahead of needing to purchase a car due to my imminent retirement from work and the return of my company car.

However, I was immediately impressed by the cars on view, especially the Leon, and by the general appearance of the showroom; the cars look well and are well equipped, and your showroom looks like a place where people care about presentation and service. This impression was well backed up by the service provided by your representative, Mr Campbell Stark, who answered our questions and offered for our consideration the car which we eventually bought.

He allowed us space and time to make ourselves comfortable with the car whilst describing its merits both in its own terms and in terms of my situation. My test drive with him was unrestricted in route and time although, to be fair, the car performed so well that it didn’t take me long to decide on the purchase.

The car was available at the agreed time and very well presented. All I had to do was pay for it! Having had the car for a few days now and figured out all the knobs and twiddly bits, I am even more impressed with it than when I left the showroom; I’m looking forward to many happy miles in it.

Please convey my thanks to Mr. Stark for his input and support. I was brought up to believe that you cannot really sell capital equipment to people but you can help them to buy it.

Campbell certainly achieved that, which made for a positive buying experience.

“I took my SEAT Leon Cupra R (my second one and my 3rd SEAT) to a local garage more known for their tyre fitting than mechanical work for it’s MOT.

They advised me of the bushings needing to be replaced but then seemed to be getting really poor advice from their parts supplier and were wanting to replace all sorts of parts that were not needed. This was making the cost for the repair very high indeed. I was uncomfortable – it was not that they were not trying to help me, just that I did not think they knew the car well enough to go about the repair in the right way.

I phoned your service dept and spoke to Sandy – he knew right away what could and should be done – replace the bushings and put it back together.

So despite the high labour to parts ratio for this particular job, the repair was actually £200 less than I was asked to pay by the other garage, so I have real experience of your high level of knowledge of my car delivering a high quality of service – and value.

Very pleased with how I was treated and I really felt like I was a customer and not just another number through the door to buy a car. Good Morning, I hope this finds you well.

It would be totally remiss of me not to formally record my huge gratitude to you in the service provided to my family. As you know , I was let down by others and strung along with all manner of lame excuses. From initial point of contact through to conclusion, the words can’t be written that could possibly do justice to the very efficient, polite and thoroughly professional manner in which you positively & effectively managed proceedings.

Having taken delivery yesterday, I took advantage of the lovely winter’s day and went on an ‘extended’ drive. I was impressed before, but my experience only amplified the quality of the product. My wife Helen echos the same sentiment, and is delighted with her new car.

Many thanks to David for the obvious ease with which he accommodated me and my family on the day of the test drive. Nothing was too much bother for him. I was met by Norman, who on introducing himself, saw that I was attended to in what I could only describe as the ‘Livingstone Way’. Similar gratitude is also extended to John for the impressive way the formalities were completed without fuss.The handover was as comprehensive and precise as could possibly be expected, and I left comfortable in where everything was to be found.

It appears you leave nothing to chance and rely instead, on the dependability & reliability of well appointed, enthusiastic and committed staff.

My previous car purchases have only ever been through ‘main dealers’. Clearly and without any doubt, there are more than a few of your industry colleagues who would do well to examine & learn from the values you so clearly evidence in a family run business. My whole experience of W Livingstone Ltd has been hugely impressive and one I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending to my own family and friends. Please do post this on any forum in respect of quality of service & product.
